The Federation of Law Societies of Canada is pleased to announce that Louis-Martin Beaumont, of Québec, has been elected President for 2025–2026.
Mr. Beaumont was nominated to the Federation Council by the Chambre des notaires du Québec in 2017. He is currently a member of the board at the Chambre des notaires and the Vice-President, where he also chairs the Investment Committee.
First elected to the Board of Directors of the Chambre des notaires du Québec in 2011, Mr. Beaumont has contributed to the profession’s governance for more than a decade. His prior roles include serving on the Laval Advisory Committee and the Disciplinary Committee of the Chambre des notaires.
Mr. Beaumont received his licence in 1993 and is the third generation to lead his family’s notarial firm, established in 1950 in what is now the city of Laval, Québec. Throughout his career, he has combined a commitment to innovation and education with a dedication to the integrity of notarial practice in service of the public interest.
The Federation also recognizes outgoing President Teresa Donnelly of Ontario, whose leadership over the past year has advanced the Federation’s key priorities, including professional standards, anti-money laundering initiatives, and cross-country collaboration. The Federation extends its sincere appreciation for her dedicated service and contributions.
