This year’s Program features two special Closing Events, taking place Thursday, July 11, 2019. These are excellent opportunities to wind up the week in a fun, casual setting with new and old friends. Please note these are optional ticketed events, not included in the Program registration fee. Additional fees apply. Early registration is strongly encouraged – both events have limited enrolment and are expected to sell out quickly. Guests are welcome. Events are sponsored by Thomson Reuters. City Beers in the Capital – Brew Donkey Brewery Tour
Visiting from out of town? See the city through the bottom of a pint glass! Experience the rich flavour and traditions of Ottawa in an entirely new way with the City Beers Tour! Join local host Brew Donkey Tours and explore behind-the-scenes of 3 award-winning Ottawa breweries. Taste different brews at each location and enjoy local favourites Suzy Q donuts, Le Twist Fresh Pretzels, and Farm Fresh Boy wraps as you are driven around the city by an expert guide. Close off this year’s Program with delegates, faculty and sponsors during this fun and informative night on the town – and let someone else do the driving! Pick-up and drop-off is at the main entrance of the Westin Ottawa at 11 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, ON. Boarding at 5:45 pm (bus leaves at 6:00 pm sharp). Return to Westin at approximately 10:15 pm. This is an optional ticketed event, not included in the Program registration fee. $82.00 + HST per person. Guests are welcome. REGISTER – Only 100 spaces!
Ottawa River Dinner Cruise – Capital Cruises
Experience Ottawa from a new perspective! Join faculty, exhibitors and delegates for a special evening Dinner Cruise along the Ottawa River, with Capital Cruises. Roam about the enclosed and open-air decks to find your ideal sightseeing spot, and then socialize and dine, and take in the legends that have helped Ottawa-Gatineau blossom into the cities we know and love today. Hot buffet includes chicken in a dijonnaise sauce, roast beef au jus, choice of sides and salads, vegetable and dip platters, rolls, assorted desserts, and coffee and tea. A vegetarian alternative will be offered. One alcoholic beverage is included, followed by a cash bar. Departure location is the Gatineau Dock in Jacques Cartier Park at 160 rue Laurier, Gatineau, QC near the Canadian Museum of History. Approximately 10 -12 minutes by cab or Uber, or 20 -25 minutes walking from the Westin Ottawa. Boarding is at 6:45 pm with departure at 7:00 pm. Return to Jacques Cartier Park around 10:00 pm. $82.00 + HST per person. Guests are welcome. REGISTER – Only 150 spaces!
Free Afternoon – Wednesday, July 10, 2019, 12:00 pm +
On Wednesday, the Program ends at 12:00 pm. Looking for a memorable way to spend the afternoon? Explore spectacular downtown Ottawa on your own and discover why it draws visitors back again and again, or find the perfect group walking, cycling, coach or coach tour through one of Ottawa’s many local tour operators. There is so much to see and do! Please note these are additional ticketed activities, not included in the Program registration fee. All activities are managed by independent third parties, not associated with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. Please review individual activities for terms and conditions.
