The National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) is currently working to update its database of courses that are approved as equivalent to the NCA syllabus for Business Organizations. If you have been assigned Business Organizations on your NCA assessment report and believe you have completed a course at law school that meets this requirement, we ask that you please contact Aislinn Walsh at email@example.com to request a review of your file.
Registration is now open for NCA examinations scheduled for January 2016. Registration will close on November 13, 2015. Eligible NCA candidates can register for exams using the NCA's new password protected portal here. If you think you are eligible to write NCA examinations in January and have not received access information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Law Society of Alberta will be hosting two full-day conferences for internationally trained lawyers (ITLs) and graduates in Edmonton on Thursday, October 22 and in Calgary on Friday, October 23. Complete Details and Registration.
Please be advised that registration is now closed for the NCA examination period scheduled in October 2015. If you have registered and wish to cancel, you must make your request through the NCA Candidate Portal here. Once you have signed onto the Candidate Portal, you will find the refund option under the “Exam History” heading of the “My Course Info” tab. Make your cancellation request by clicking on the “Refund” button located beside the exam(s) you wish to cancel. You will need to request a refund for each exam individually (as opposed to selecting multiple exam titles at the same time). A $55 administration fee (plus applicable taxes) is applied to each exam cancellation. Please ensure you make your request prior to the scheduled date of the exam, otherwise you will forfeit your entire registration fee.
