Council Member nominated by the Law Society of Saskatchewan
Greg Walen was appointed a Council member by the Law Society of Saskatchewan in November 2012. Greg practices exclusively family law and is a partner with the firm Scharfstein Gibbings Walen Fisher LLP in Saskatoon. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Saskatchewan in 1980 and was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1981. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2000.
Greg was a Bencher of the Law Society of Saskatchewan from 2005 to 2012 and served as the President of the Law Society in 2012. While a Bencher, Greg served as Chair of the Law Society’s Ethics, Admissions and Education, and Professional Standards Committees.
Greg is a Sessional Lecturer in Family Law at the College of Law, University of Saskatchewan. He has also instructed and coordinated the Family Law section of the Saskatchewan Bar Course for many years.
